Stian Heimdal

Heimdal specialises in construction law and has extensive experience of contract negotiations, project support, risk management and dispute resolution in the building and construction sector. This includes various types of partnering models. He has considerable experience of dispute resolution and in-court advocacy, and has represented clients in both the district and appeal courts.

Heimdal previously worked as a lawyer with the construction companies AF Gruppen and Veidekke Entreprenør, during which time he provided legal assistance on a wide range of large and complex building and construction projects. At the same time, he gained considerable insight into the technical and commercial challenges facing the sector.

Heimdal has in-depth knowledge of the description systems used in Norwegian construction projects, NS 3420 and Handbook R761/R762 (Process Code). He also has specialist competence regarding consulting engineers’ professional liability and has written an article on project design mistakes which was published in the journal Tidsskrift for Eiendomsrett.

With experience from “all sides of the table”, he has a firm understanding of risk and how his advice impacts the project. Stian is an experienced public speaker and regularly gives lectures to actors in the building and construction industry.
