Margrét Gunnarsdottir
Margrét assists both buyers and suppliers in public procurement processes, ranging from preparation to execution, including tender work, access to documents, enforcement, and contract follow-up, including price revisions. She also advises clients on EEA law matters and regularly conducts tutorials in EEA law.
Margrét has experience from both the public sector (the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries, NFD) and legal practice in Norway and Iceland, as well as from EEA institutions; the EFTA Surveillance Authority (ESA) in Brussels and the EFTA Court in Luxembourg.
With her background from NFD during the period 2011–2023, she has specialist expertise in public procurement regulations, extensive experience with legislative and regulatory work, and has worked closely with political leadership and other ministries. Margrét has also worked closely with the EFTA Surveillance Authority (ESA) and contributed to several Norwegian submissions to the EFTA Court. Furthermore, she has represented Norway in EU Commission expert groups and chaired EFTA's working group on procurement.
Margrét is a board member of the Norwegian-Icelandic Chamber of Commerce, which aims to promote increased trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. She is happy to assist Icelandic and Norwegian clients with regulatory issues related to establishing and operating businesses in Iceland and Norway.
With her background in both the private and public sectors, Margrét is particularly well-qualified to understand clients' diverse needs and to find effective solutions.
