After the merger, the companies will constitute Norway’s largest power group with operations throughout the value chain, from production to consumer. They will also become the second largest grid company, with 310,000 customers. The merged companies will manage and trade more than 30 TWh of power in the Nordic region, becoming Norway’s largest company in the field of power sales to companies and over 200,000 electricity customers in the private market.
Lars Erik Torjussen, Chairman of Agder Energi states the following:
-We are pleased that the owners have decided to merge the companies in line with the board’s recommendation. Today's decision comes after a thorough merger process, and now together we will seize the opportunities ahead. Through the merger, we will secure today’s jobs and develop new ones, and create value in both regions.
The merger is expected to be completed within the course of 4th quarter 2022, depending on approvals from the Competition Authority and energy authorities.
